This calculator allows you to forecast your cumulative and term GPA, as well as your cumulative and course completion rates. Your results might change based on projected academic performance during the current or upcoming semester.

Please Note:
  • GPA is a NUMBER entry; do not enter a letter grade (i.e. A = 4.0, B = 3.0 etc.)
  • For further information on the Academic Standing Policy, see MnSCU Policy 2.9 and contact your campus to learn more about your institutions specific requirements.

Current Information

This table identifies your current cumulative GPA and Course Completion Rate.

  1. Go to the section at the end of your transcript labeled: "Career Undergrad Summary - Semester Hours".
  2. Find information on the line labeled: "Local". This line tallies information related to your academic performance at your college or university.
  3. Enter your current information found on this line. Refer to the image below.

Local Cumulative Enter the number to the right of "Att" (local cumulative credits attempted at your institution). This number includes credits in progress. Be sure to enter these credits below to get an accurate course completion rate.

Attempted Credits are the number of credits you have registered for in your career at your institution. Attempted Credits: 		   
Local Cumulative Enter the number to the right of "Earn" (local cumulative credits earned at your institution).

Earned Credits are course credits where a letter grade was received. Earned Credits: 		   
Local Cumulative Enter the number to the right of "GPA Crs" (local cumulative GPA credits at your institution).

GPA Credits are credits for a course where a grade, incuding a D , F or I was received.
S grades do not receive GPA credits.
Example: 4 credit course where a grade was given (A-F) equals 4 GPA credits. GPA Credits : 		   
Local Cumulative Enter the number to the right of "GPA Pts" (local cumulative GPA points at your institution).

This is a calculated value where (Grade Scale value of final grade) is multipled by (Number of credits in a course)
Example: (A grade = 4) multipled (4 credit course) = 16 GPA Points. GPA Points: 		   
Local Cumulative Enter the number to the right of "GPA" (local cumulative GPA at your institution).

This is your Grade Point Average. It is calculated by taking GPA points and dividing by GPA Credits. GPA:

4. The number of GPA Points calculated here is added to you total cumulative GPA Points.

NOTE:
Completion Rate: This tool will calculate the completion rate by subtracting the number of credit hours of the course from your total cumulative Earned Credits, and then adding it back to your total cumulative Earned Credits. This means that the course is only counted ONCE, assuming that you pass the repeating course. Check with your college or university to see if a repeated course is calculated the same way or differently.

Withdrawals: This tool does not factor in withdrawals since these do not affect your GPA when repeating the course and they typically do impact your completion ratio as if you are taking another course.
